Delete Your Account

கணக்கை நீக்குதல்

How to delete your Suba Nagai Maaligai account, what has to happen first, and which records we are required to keep.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the Suba Nagai Maaligai mobile app or the customer web portal. This page explains the steps, what has to happen first, and which records we are required to keep afterwards.

1 How to delete your account (கணக்கை நீக்கும் முறை)

  1. Open the app and log in.
  2. Go to Profile from the bottom navigation bar or the side menu.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Read what will be deleted and what will be kept.
  5. Enter your password to confirm. If you normally sign in with an MPIN and have never set a password, the app will ask you to set one first.
  6. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device.
Please note: deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account, and you will need to register again from the beginning if you wish to return.

2 Before you can delete (நீக்குவதற்கு முன்)

All of your scheme accounts must be closed first. While a scheme account is still open, you have gold saved with us that can only be handed over to you in person at our store — so we cannot close your customer record while any balance remains.

There are two ways a scheme account is closed:

  • Redeem at maturity: once your scheme reaches its maturity date, visit our store within the redemption window shown on the scheme and collect your jewellery.
  • Early closure: where the scheme allows it, you can request closure before maturity. The maturity bonus is usually reduced in this case.

When you tap Delete account while a scheme is still open, the app lists each open account along with the gold redeemable from it, so you know exactly what is outstanding.

3 Schemes that cannot be closed early (முன்கூட்டியே முடிக்க முடியாத திட்டங்கள்)

Not every scheme can be closed before maturity, and some allow it only after a lock-in period has passed. These rules differ from scheme to scheme.

To check the rules for one of your accounts, open that scheme in the app — the scheme page lists its redemption window, whether early exit is allowed, and any lock-in period that applies. You can also reach the scheme page directly by tapping an account in the Delete account screen.

4 How to close a scheme account (திட்டக் கணக்கை முடிக்க)

Closing a scheme account is done in person or through our support team:

  • Visit the branch where the account was opened, with your account number and a valid photo ID.
  • Or contact our support team, who will guide you through the options available on your particular scheme.

5 What is deleted and what is kept (நீக்கப்படுபவை மற்றும் வைத்திருப்பவை)

Deleted permanently

  • Your profile — name on file, email address, date of birth, gender and postal address.
  • Your KYC details and uploaded documents, including PAN and Aadhaar references and your profile photo.
  • Your nominee's details.
  • Your password and MPIN, and every signed-in session on every device.
  • Your registered devices, so you stop receiving push notifications from us.

Retained, as the law requires

  • Receipts already issued to you, and the deposit and scheme records behind them.
  • These are financial records of completed transactions. Indian accounting and tax rules require us to keep them for a fixed period, after which they are disposed of in the normal course.

Your mobile number is released when your account is deleted, so you are free to register again later with the same number.
